They express their reasons as follows. Firstly, the Internet can help them make various friends. Secondly, they can express their feelings and thoughts freely. Thirdly, chatting online is also helpful for their language study.
However, other students have the opposite view. They have their own reasons. They argue that chatting online is a waste of time, and that their time should be spent meaningfully on study. In addition, some students get cheated online.
From my point of view, making online friends is not a bad thing if we are careful enough. Anyway, the Internet widens our eyes and enriches our knowledge. However, we should not spend too much time on it and we need to be careful with the people we chat with. Only in this way can making online friends be valuable to us.
